ABOUT ME

Hi, nice to meet you! I’m Yihang Chen, you can call me Yvette. I was grown up in China and moved to the United States during high school. I completed my undergraduate degree in Illustration and Interior design at Savannah College of Art & Design. The ever-changing cultural environment provides me with more possibilities to explore my own artistic language. Therefore, you may be able to find obvious Chinese or Japanese elements in my works, but they are presenting in oil painting style. The art works I created are mainly about character storytelling. I like to tell my perception of the world from the perspective of fictional characters.
Influenced by the multiple cultures, I am committed to using vibrate and rich colors to tell stories about figures from our imaginary world. I have worked with a wide variety of painting materials. Therefore, the material constraints do not limit my creations. Currently I’m working in digital painting more often. Because it is more convenient for me to exchange opinions with clients in progress.
My currently works are mostly Book illustration and Concept design. Based on existing stories and settings, I can create eye-catching illustrations based on the characters in the story, leading the audience to want to know more details. I'm also building the fantasy world from my imagination. I was presenting it in the form of character design, prop design, and environment design. If you are interested in the world under my brush, welcome to my portfolio page to explore more!
